The Challenge
The homeowners had a small builder-grade rear landing with limited usable outdoor space and no defined entertainment area. They wanted to create a larger outdoor living environment that would improve backyard access, provide space for entertaining, and add architectural interest to the rear elevation of the home.
Our Approach
Morgan Remodeling designed and constructed a large elevated pressure-treated wood deck featuring expansive multi-directional stair access, integrated railing systems, and a custom-built pergola structure. The project included extensive excavation, reinforced concrete footings, pressure-treated framing, elevated beam construction, and code-compliant guardrails and stair assemblies. Careful planning and layout were required to work around the existing rear bump-outs and maintain balanced access points from both sides of the yard.
The Result
The finished project completely transformed the backyard into a functional outdoor entertainment space with significantly improved accessibility and curb appeal. The large elevated deck created multiple seating and gathering areas while the pergola added visual definition and partial shade without closing off the open-air feel of the backyard.
